–St. John Bosco

First reconciliation & First Communion

Open to children in Gr. 2 or higher.

Classes begin each October and run until May. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is open to all children in 2nd Grade or higher. Parental participation is vital throughout the process. Help build a life of love for Jesus and His Church in your little one’s heart and mind!

Overview

In Fall, we focus on God’s love, and our choice to love God in return. We learn about forgiveness, mercy, and grace. Children are carefully instructed on how to make a good confession, so that they may be able to participate in the Sacrament by February.

After their first Reconciliation, each child begins to prepare for the reception of their very First Holy Communion. What is the Eucharist? What is the Mass? How do we participate in it? First Communion will then take place on May 31, 2026.

Tuition

Tuition covers the cost of books, curriculum, and snacks. Each child will receive their own Catholic Children’s Bible, which will be used throughout this program.

Registration Steps

  1. Complete and submit the Registration form.
  2. Submit the child’s baptismal certificate, either through the web registration form linked above, or bring the original to the office.
  3. Pay the tuition ($60).

Schedule

Sacramental preparation classes and required youth groups meet from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. Children will meet in the hall and then go to their designated classroom. Click here to download the full schedule of classes.
