Olympic Peninsula Catholic Youth | Central Region
“The Church needs your energies, your enthusiasm, your youthful ideals, in order to make the Gospel of Life penetrate the fabric of society, transforming people’s hearts and the structures of society in order to create a civilization of true justice and love.” –Pope St. John Paul II
Forged in the Pit
Sundays | 6:00 – 8:00 pm (Food @ 5:30 pm)
Open to all middle & high school youth in Sequim, Port Angeles, and surrounding areas.
Get serious about your Catholic faith. Look for answers, grow in your spirituality, learn and experience more about your faith, or just hang out. Bring yourself, bring your friends, bring your appetite for truth.
Come early, at 5:30pm, and join us for a meal. At 6pm, we dig into a different kind of feast. First we gather together, then we listen to God’s Word proclaimed. Then we break into smaller groups to explore what we’ve heard. Finally, we’re sent back out into our daily lives, to put what we’ve discovered into action. If you’re ready to go deeper with Jesus, come to the Pit.

Wednesdays in the Pit
Wednesdays | 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Open to all K – 8th grade.
Join us — Come hang out after school in the Fellowship Hall at St. Joseph. Snacks, music, foosball, games, and Jesus!
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” –1 Timothy 4:12
IGNITE NW
For the past three years, OPC’s youth group Forged has attended Ignite NW, an annual Catholic youth conference, at University of Portland. Surrounded by 300+ other Catholic youths and clergy, our youth has the opportunity to worship God in fun, new ways with like-minded people.
IYT offers daily Masses, keynote talks and workshops led by clergy and religious (including our own Fr. Jacob Maurer, Dcn. Dan Powers, and Morgan Nolan, YM), Latin Mass, a Rosary procession, Eucharistic Adoration, Benediction, rec time, small groups and an offsite outing.
Everyone had a great time! Thanks to all who supported us, both financially and through prayer.
Save the date for next year: July 2026!
If you would like to donate to our youth program, please make checks payable to St. Joseph Parish with ‘Ignite NW’ on the memo line.
