First reconciliation & First Communion

Open to children in Gr. 2 or higher.

The 2023-2024 First Reconciliation & First Communion Preparation is off to a new start. We’re excited to welcome you!

Classes begin each September and run until June. Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is open to all children in 2nd Grade or higher. Parental participation is vital throughout the process. Help build a life of love for Jesus and His Church in your little one’s heart and mind!

In Fall, we focus on God’s love, and our choice to love God in return. We learn about forgiveness, mercy, and grace. Children are carefully instructed on how to make a good confession, so that they may be able to participate in the Sacrament by February.

After their first Reconciliation, each child begins to prepare for the reception of their very First Holy Communion. What is the Eucharist? What is the Mass? How do we participate in it? First Communion will then take place on the Feast of Corpus Christi in June.

Tuition covers the cost of books, curriculum, and snacks. Each child will receive their own Catholic Children’s Bible, which will be used throughout this program as well as their time in CCD, the next step in their Christian education. We use a vibrant and engaging curriculum called BLESSED (follow the link to preview).
